Six thousand years of history in one map - a new tool for schools and the public

 Published May 27, 2025

A Czech team has unveiled a new educational platform, TimeMap.org, at Stanford University in the USA. The platform offers an interactive way to explore world history through a web and mobile app, now freely accessible to the general public. This remarkable project—home to the most extensive online map of history to date—has also just received the prestigious “Map of the Year 2024” award from the Czech Cartographic Society.
